Arts Monongahela

The arts have always been an important part of my family's life. My grandfather was an Associate Dean at the WVU College of Creative Arts and a gifted violinist, and my mother was a music education teacher who mastered the flute.

I started playing the piano at age 3, and taught piano lessons to many children while I finished high school. As a child I ventured on stage in the "King and I", "The Music Man", and later directed children's theatrical and musical productions at my church.

These experiences gave me confidence and allowed me to grow as an individual. Because of these personal experiences I understand the value of the arts to both the individual and the community. That is why I am so pleased to serve as the 2007 Campaign Chair for the Arts Fund.

We are fortunate to live in a community where we are surrounded by the arts, and as our community grows, so does our need for arts and culture. Join us in celebrating the arts with a gift to the 2007 Arts Fund.
